Arteta gives Granit Xhaka a new role at Arsenal

Arsenal's coach, Mikel Arteta, has given a new leadership role to former captain Granit Xhaka, while the "Gunners" have started the new Premier League season perfectly.

According to "The Athletic", the midfielder has been chosen by the Spanish technician to serve in the leadership team of the team together with striker Gabriel Jesus, transferred this summer from City.

They will work together with the new captain, Martin Odegard, and will be his two substitutes when the Norwegian fantasist is absent, also holding the armband.

This is very important news especially for the Switzerland captain who was stripped of his captain's armband after the fan incident in the derby with Crystal Palace in 2019.
