The women's national team began preparations for the two crucial matches against Cyprus on Sunday afternoon, valid for the UEFA Nations League play-out phase.
This morning, the red and black girls held their next training session as part of this training camp, as the group is not yet complete and is expected to be completed in the afternoon session.
In a statement to fshf.org, the team's coach, Armir Grima, expressed optimism about these matches and sees the same in the team he leads.
"We have been waiting for this day to come to this level. I believe that we will give our best. I am very optimistic and I see a lot of optimism in the girls, I see desire and grit. It is the right moment for us to continue to stay in League B because I believe we deserve it. Both with results and with play and I believe that we are worthy of continuing in League B" - says coach Grima, who also shows how the team is coming to this gathering.
"We are lucky that many girls are playing for us outside Albania, in foreign clubs. The contingent has increased a lot. It is lucky because the training is more systematic, more regular because the girls are well prepared physically. I see desire in the girls. This warms me up and I see optimism to successfully overcome these two challenges" - adds, among other things, professor Grima.
The red and black coach also talks about the opponent, while underlining that in these challenges our team must fight with itself and not take them as easy matches. "We have studied it, we know who Cyprus is. I believe that they have studied us in the same way. We must fight with ourselves and not think that this is an easy match, because it is very important. Let's give these matches the appreciation they deserve and take the big step in girls' football because it will be a great success if we continue to stay in League B" - concludes coach Armir Grima for fshf.org.
Albania will play the first match against Cyprus in Larnaca on October 24 at 18:00. The return match will be played at the “Air Albania” Stadium on October 28 at 18:00.
The matches against Cyprus are considered finals for the red and black girls' team, who seek to maintain their status in League B and continue their journey at this level.
