Morocco's U-20 national team has won the World Youth Championship for the first time in its history, defeating Argentina 2-0 in the final held in Chile. The challenge was decided by two goals from Yassir Zabiri, a striker for the Portuguese club Famalicao, who was one of the most outstanding players of the tournament.

Morocco had an impressive run to the trophy. In the group stage, the African team faced Spain, Brazil and Mexico, a group that was considered one of the most difficult of the competition. The Moroccans won against Spain 2-0 and against Brazil 2-1, while a narrow 0-1 loss against Mexico did not prevent them from passing the stage as group leaders.

In the round of 16, the team led by coach Mohamed Ouhbi defeated South Korea 2-1, then in the quarterfinals they defeated the United States 3-1, while in the semifinals they eliminated France after a 1-1 draw and a 5-4 victory on penalties.

In the final against Argentina, Morocco showed high tactical organization and discipline in both phases of the game. The team completely neutralized the opponent's attacking potential, controlling the pace of the game throughout the match. Zabiri scored both goals, sealing the greatest success in the history of Moroccan football at the age level. With this triumph, Morocco became the second African national team to win the U20 World Cup, after Ghana, which achieved this in 2009.
