The U-16 national team starts the tournament with a loss, defeated by Japan

Albania U-16 started their adventure in the “UEFA Development” tournament with a match against Japan. In the match held at the “House of Football”, the red and black team led by coach Armand Dama were defeated with a score of 1-2, after a hard-fought challenge until the end. The only goal for the red and black team was scored by Mattia Avni Xhemali.

The first half ended goalless. In the second half, the technical staff activated several players from the bench, giving almost all the players on the team the opportunity to get minutes.


Albania took the lead in the 69th minute with a goal by Xhemal, but Japan reacted quickly, equalizing in the 78th minute through Aoyama Haru and overturning the score just four minutes later. The match ended with a score of 1-2.

In the next match held at the "House of Football", Sweden defeated Austria 1-0.

The Red and Black U-16s will take to the field again on April 3, where they will face Sweden at 2:30 PM at the "House of Football".
