The club has announced that 21 people, including players and technical staff, have been poisoned. Health problems appeared during the return flight, forcing the intervention of ambulances at the airport. Food poisoning is suspected, according to Italian media.

As a result, Salernitana has requested the postponement of the return match, which is scheduled for June 20. This match will decide the fate of both teams for the next season.

Sampdoria, who won the first leg 2-0, needs a draw or a one-goal loss to secure their place in Serie B. Recall that Sampdoria's team was initially relegated to Serie C, but took advantage of Brescia's points deduction, entering the play-offs.
