Albanian Championship on the steps of the Premier League, FSHF reveals the big innovation

Starting from the 2025/2026 football season, the VAR system in Albanian football will operate from a permanent dedicated center, built in the “House of Football”. The Football Federation has taken this important step to modernize and increase the standard of Albanian refereeing, bringing it in line with best European practices.

This center will monitor five matches simultaneously from the Superiore, thus eliminating the need for the mobile centers that have been used so far. There will be 5 VAR rooms available, equipped with the latest technology, where referees will have the opportunity to analyze controversial moments.

In addition to Superiore matches, this center will also serve for selected matches from the First Category championship, or other championships depending on the challenges.

Through this important investment for Albanian football, the Albanian Football Federation proves that it is following in the footsteps of the most developed European federations such as the English, Spanish or Italian ones, which have long adopted centralized VAR system centers.
