Italy awaits Guardiola, the plan for the Spanish coach

Pep Guardiola remains one of the main candidates for the Italy national team bench, while contacts between the parties have continued in recent days.

Paolo Maldini and Leonardo have held meetings with the Spanish coach to understand the possibility of taking over the national team.

FIGC president Giovanni Malaga has confirmed that Guardiola's name is a concrete option and not just a wish. The 55-year-old coach left Manchester City after ten years and is currently considering his next career steps.

According to reports, Guardiola has not rejected the offer, but has asked for time to make a decision. The Italian federation is ready to make additional financial efforts and secure sponsors to cover part of the contract costs. The Spanish coach could be offered a salary of 5 million euros per season.

Meanwhile, Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Mancini and Antonio Conte remain in the running for the Italy coach's job. A final response from Guardiola is expected in the coming days.
