Only the signature is missing, De La Fuente's future is decided

The Spanish Football Federation intends to continue its collaboration with Luis de la Fuente even after Euro 2028.

President Rafael Louzan considers the current coach the right man to lead Spain towards the 2030 World Cup.

The 2030 tournament will be hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with some matches also taking place in South America. According to reports, in addition to the contract renewal, De la Fuente is also expected to benefit from improved financial conditions.

The coach took charge of the Spanish national team in 2022. During this period he has won the European Championship, the Nations League and the World Cup.

Negotiations for a new contract are expected to begin after the summer break. The federation's objective is for De la Fuente to remain at the helm of the national team's long-term project.
