Scaloni set to leave, Argentina have new coach ready

Lionel Scaloni's future as Argentina coach remains uncertain after the team's World Cup final defeat to Spain.

According to reports, the Argentine coach's contract expires in December and there is still no decision on his continuation. In case of departure, Marcelo Gallardo is considered the main candidate to take over the national team.

The 50-year-old coach, known for his successes with River Plate, is seen as the favorite to take over at the Albiceleste. However, the Argentine Federation's main desire remains Diego Simeone.

The 56-year-old Atletico Madrid coach is considered the ideal target, but his contractual situation makes the operation difficult. Simeone has a contract with the Spanish club until the summer of 2027.
