Luka Modric's future is now clear. The Croatian midfielder will continue to be part of Milan next season, putting aside any thoughts of retiring from playing football for the time being.

After weeks of speculation and discussions about his future, the Red and Blacks and the player himself have reached an agreement to continue their cooperation. An important role in this decision was played by coach Ruben Amorim, who considered Modric one of the key points of his project.

In his first statements as Milan coach, Amorim had underlined the importance of the Croatian, emphasizing that his experience and qualities could help the team, especially in the first phase of the season. According to reports, the Portuguese coach even had a phone conversation with the former Real Madrid player to convince him to continue his adventure at "San Siro".

Modric, who has just finished participating in the last World Cup with Croatia, will earn around 3.5 million euros per season, the same amount he had in his previous contract. The official signing is expected to be made within this week.

Technically, the 40-year-old midfielder is expected to be part of the midfield alongside Adrien Rabiot. Milan are planning significant changes in this department, as Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fofana and Samuele Ricci are considered candidates for departure during the summer transfer window.

At the same time, the red and black leaders are also working on new approaches. The name that is most often mentioned is that of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Danish midfielder, who has a contract with Marseille until 2028, is seen as a profile that can complete the midfield department and increase the alternatives available to Amorim.
