Gjimshiti scores in goal, Atalanta secures qualification for the Cup

National team defender Berat Gjimshiti scored his first goal of the season with Atalanta in the Italian Cup match against Genoa.

The red and black captain opened the scoring in the 19th minute, after a cross from Zalewski. The first half ended with Atalanta's minimal advantage, while Genoa was left with one player less after Fini's red card in the 36th minute.

In the second half, Atalanta took advantage of their numerical advantage and scored three more goals. De Roon scored in the 54th minute, while Pasalic scored in the 82nd.

In extra time, Ahanor also scored for the final score of 4-0. Atalanta qualifies for the quarterfinals, where they will face Juventus. Genoa is eliminated from the competition.
