The legend Sir Alex Ferguson is no longer part of the Manchester United club.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS decided to leave the legend of the "Red Devils" club after almost 40 years.

INEOS has taken the decision to halve the costs of the expenditure and Ratcliffe informed Ferguson of this decision.

The 82-year-old will remain as a non-executive director and will be allowed to attend matches but will not be paid beyond this season.

Ferguson remains the most successful manager in United's history. He decided to step down as manager in 2013 after 38 trophies won, but still remained involved within the club.
