Mercedes sporting director: We are not claiming anything for this year

The sporting director of Mercedes, Toto Wolff emphasizes that their team has lost the opportunity to compete for this year's victory in Formula 1.

In a statement made recently to the media, he said that now their focus is 2025.

"Given our position in the Championship, we were able to test things by paying a price. We are still focused on maximizing our results. Every weekend, we prepare better for 2025, as this year we no longer have the chance to compete for the ultimate triumph. We will continue to follow this approach in Brazil", said Wolff.

After the summer break, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have only achieved one podium, the one in Baku, which clearly shows the state of Mercedes.

Making it clear that Mercedes is unable to compete with Ferrari and McLaren, who have triumphed in recent Formula 1 races. /CNA
