Double, missed penalty and history! Messi qualifies Argentina

The Argentina national team has officially secured qualification for the 1/16 stage of the World Cup, after a 2-0 triumph over Austria in the second round match of Group H.

Lionel Messi was the absolute protagonist, with two goals and a missed penalty.

Initially, the 38-year-old wasted a penalty in the 9th minute, shooting outside the box.

However, "Pleshti" became the absolute hero of the evening, coming back stronger. He opened the scoring in the 38th minute after an assist from Medina and sealed the victory in extra time with his second personal goal.

With this double, Messi wrote the history of world football by becoming the top scorer in World Cup history with 18 goals, surpassing Miroslav Klose's record (16 goals).
