The Netherlands joins the greats, extraordinary figures at the World Cup

The Netherlands have made World Cup history by becoming the eighth national team to surpass 100 goals scored in the competition.

The record was achieved in a 5-1 win over Sweden in the group stage. Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo scored twice each, while Crysencio Summerville scored the fifth goal of the match.

With this success, the Netherlands took their tally of goals in World Cup history to 101. The "Tulips" joined a prestigious list that includes Brazil, Germany, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain and England.

The victory over Sweden also gave Ronald Koeman's team top of the group. This achievement confirms the Netherlands' continuity as one of the most important national teams in the history of world football.
