World Cup elimination, Turkey decides on coach Montella

Despite being eliminated from the World Cup group stage after two defeats in the first two matches, the Turkish Football Federation has confirmed its confidence in coach Vincenzo Montella.

Federation president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu has ruled out a change in the bench and said that the cooperation with the Italian coach will continue. Montella is credited with achieving Turkey's return to the World Cup after a 24-year absence.

On the way to the World Cup, the Turkish national team secured qualification through the play-offs, where they eliminated Kosovo. However, their performances in the group stage did not bring the expected results and the team remained out of the qualification race.

Turkey will play their final Group D match against the United States, in a match that will not affect the final standings. Turkish football leaders have decided to continue the project with Montella even after the tournament ends.
