Statement about the coach, Mbappe risks punishment

Kylian Mbappe is going through a difficult period at Real Madrid, amid tensions with fans and coach Alvaro Arbeloa.

The French forward returned to the pitch in the 2-0 win over Real Oviedo, but was greeted with boos from the fans. After the match, Mbappe stated that he did not play from the first minute after the coach had informed him that he was the fourth choice in the offensive department, behind Mastantuono, Vinicius and Gonzalo Garcia.

The Frenchman added that he was ready to start and denied any problems regarding his holiday in Sardinia, clarifying that he had the club's permission. Arbeloa immediately reacted, denying that he had told the player that he was fourth choice and stressed that the decisions on the formation are his alone.

The coach explained that Mbappe was not physically ready to start as a starter after returning from injury. Meanwhile, Spanish media report that the player could face a fine of around 100,000 euros if his statements are considered offensive to the club. The situation has increased tension on the eve of important decisions for the future of the Madrid club.
