Amarildo Bakaj announces retirement from boxing at the age of 26

Albanian boxer, Amarildo Bakaj, has surprised everyone by announcing his early retirement from the ring at the age of 26.

Through a heartfelt reaction on social media, Bakaj explained that this painful decision comes as a result of spiritual fatigue and lack of financial support in our country.

He pointed out the many difficulties and obstacles that Albanian athletes face compared to their colleagues in the US or England, where sponsorships are vital to their careers.

Another point the boxer emphasized was his refusal to change his patriotic image for the sake of foreign contracts, choosing to always present himself under the red and black colors. According to him, this loyalty to his identity has closed many doors in the international arena.

Although he is closing an important chapter in sports, Bakaj promised that he will always remain a dedicated patriot outside the ring.
