The Roma community sheltered in containers that the Municipality of Shkodra has made available, continue to suffer from the lack of drinking water. The Social Service Specialist at the Municipality of Shkodra, Fatmira Kraja, emphasizes that work is currently underway to restore the drinking water supply, which was interrupted due to illegal interventions by the residents themselves.

"Support based on food, clothing, medicine, support based on the requests that families have had. As for drinking water, this is really an informal area, where the water is drilled. But whenever there have been problems with the water, technicians have come to assist, despite the fact that there have been illegal interventions on their part at the pumps," says Kraja.

Kraja also commented on the event that occurred a few days ago, when three containers were engulfed in flames, explaining that fortunately there were no human casualties and that the relevant structures are committed to helping these families in need, providing them with temporary shelter.

"The families have been temporarily housed until they are fully accommodated. Their accommodation was done immediately after the fire broke out," said Kraja.
