The 10-minute habit that will improve your brain health

A very simple habit of just 10 minutes a day can make a big difference to brain health.

What is the “10-minute habit”?

At least 10 minutes of continuous movement. At a pace of about 40 steps per minute or more. It can be just a brisk walk, not necessarily a strenuous workout.

They analyzed 279 people, ages 40–91, for 30 days. Those who did these short bouts of exercise had less damage to their brain vessels and better cognitive function, including memory, concentration, and decision-making.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not enough to simply be active during the day; it's important how you organize your movement.

These shorter, more intense periods stimulate more blood flow to the brain, are linked to healthier brain aging, and may reduce the risk of dementia. /CNA
