Although medicine has progressed with giant steps, unfortunately arthritis (rheumatism) remains a chronic disease that tortures thousands of people, limiting their ability to work and harming their well-being.

Rheumatism (arthritis) is a general word that expresses the inflammatory condition and pain in the bones, joints and muscles.

It is probably the most widespread disease among Albanians. All ages are affected, including children.

The two most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

The most commonly affected joints are those in:

- the hands

- spine

- the knees

- hips

The symptoms you experience will vary depending on the type of arthritis you have.

It is important to have an accurate diagnosis if you have:

- joint pain,

- swelling and stiffness around the joints

- limitation of joint movements

- redness of the skin and heat over the affected joint

- muscle weakness and pain

Treatments for arthritis include dietary adjustments, medications, and surgery.

My advice: Try to control your arthritis symptoms with dietary adjustments, as it costs much less and has no side effects.

I have proven in all my years of practicing that a good selection of foods as well as taking supplements that help repair and regenerate cartilage improve long-term symptoms without the need for anti-inflammatories and analgesics.

- Choosing a diet and taking special supplements reduces the body's inflammatory response.

- By correcting gut health, promote a more balanced immune response.

- Plan a low-reaction diet by avoiding foods that may worsen your arthritis symptoms.

- Treat and correct any nutritional deficiencies that may be causing arthritis symptoms.

Some of the most common tests to be performed are:

- thyroid tests

- analyzes of the digestive system

- blood tests

- urine tests

- analyzes for heavy metals

- analyzes for fatty acids

- analyzes for minerals and vitamins

After the examinations, your trusted doctor will draw up an individual plan that includes:

- Detailed diet

- Nutrition advice

- A physical activity plan

- Medicine with supplements and vitamins

- Medication (if necessary)

- Lifestyle changes and other recommendations.

My advice: eat well!

If you have arthritis, eating a healthy, balanced diet is essential. You can get all the nutrients you need and maintain a healthy weight by eating a balanced diet.

Never fill the refrigerator with:

- Salami, meatballs, ham.

- Canned meat, fish, vegetables.

- Margarine, lard, butter, butter, palm oil, other questionable oils.

- Industrial, energy drinks, Coca Cola, Fanta, etc.

- Industrial, processed and ultra-processed foods.

- Sweets, cakes, pastries, pastries, ice cream.

- Alcohol, brandy, wine and beer.

- Chips, chocolates, candies, etc

Losing weight can definitely help you manage arthritis if you are overweight. Your hips, knees, ankles and feet suffer from excess weight, which increases pain, damages joints and impairs movement.
