Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a frequent problem related to the modern lifestyle and diet. Heartburn and the unpleasant feeling of acid reflux into the esophagus are the most typical complaints of people.

“Nutrition plays a key role in the management of GERD. Some foods and eating habits can make symptoms worse, while others can provide relief and improve overall quality of life," said association spokeswoman Julie Stefanski, a registered dietitian in Baltimore.
