In the Regional Hospital of Berat, the Chemotherapy Unit was opened for the first time, for the treatment of tumors close to the residence. The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu saw closely the new service in this hospital, which expands the map of Chemotherapy Units in hospitals, to avoid going to Tirana for women suffering from breast cancer, but also for treatment of other tumors.

“Ne përgjatë gjithë këtyreve viteve kemi bërë të mundur që në 6 spitale rajonale të hapim kabinetet e kemioterapisë. Sot ne hapim një njësi të re, njësinë e kemioterapisë në Spitalin Rajonal të Beratit. Është një lajm i mirë për të gjithë qytetarët e Bashkisë Berat por në fakt edhe për të gjithë ata qytetarë të bashkive të tjera të Qarkut, jo vetëm përsa i përket trajtimit të sëmundjes së kancerit të gjirit, por edhe për trajtime të tjera të llojeve të ndryshme të tumoreve. Çdo shërbim që ne jemi duke hapur i shkon kësaj strategjie, staregjisë së ofrimit të shërbimeve afër vendbanimit” ndau lajmin e mirë Manatirliu.

Speaking about the government's support in the oncology field, Manastirliu said: "We have tripled the budget, in terms of the budget for drugs for tumor diseases. Since 2013, we have 5-folded the budget for drugs as a whole, and we are certainly continuing that through instruments, mechanisms for negotiations with multinational companies, even for expensive medications, and for medications, which are the last word, that is, they are innovative, we we are able to offer a wide range of medication therapies".

The Chemotherapy Service in Berat is added to the six chemotherapy cabinets in the regional hospitals in Durrës, Shkodër, Lezhë, Fier, Vlorë, Elbasan, guaranteeing citizens the follow-up of treatment therapy for tumor diseases, close to the place of residence./ CNA.al
