The works for the complete rehabilitation of the Emergency at the Regional Hospital of Vlora are nearing completion. The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has closely watched this investment, which aims to set contemporary standards for the residents of this region but also for tourists in the summer season.

"With this new investment, we ensure that the capacities in the Emergency Department of the Regional Hospital of Vlora are increased, thus creating a perfect triage of cases, which are divided according to morbidity codes and go directly to wards or intensive care units. Second, we have an opportunity to through all the new infrastructure that we have created, including new equipment and devices, to have a much more effective observation and a referral of the sick", said Minister Manastirliu.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection informed that the new Emergency of Vlora is an essential investment even within the tourist season.

"Increasing capacities in this emergency will enable us to receive 45,000 citizens during a year and there are 13,000 citizens only in the tourist season that the emergency awaits and being one of the areas that has an increased tourist flow and this season has already started , we can provide the best possible service for all patients and for all those who come to Vlora to spend the holidays and must receive very good health care, referred to the National Emergency", Manastirliu underlined .

The new emergency room at Vlora Hospital will set a contemporary standard for citizens, an investment of the Albanian Government and the Italian Cooperation. In addition to the reconstruction of emergency facilities, the implementation of protocols and Standard Operating Procedures will also be guaranteed, starting from patient triage, diagnosis, treatment and their timely referral to hospital services or even for specialized treatments in hospitals that offer tertiary care /university.
