The head of the National Emergency, Skënder Brataj, has shown the problems encountered by this structure of the health system during the summer season.

Brataj said in a television interview that there are many people who seek national emergency assistance.

But the phone calls from hotels asking for a doctor for health problems such as diarrhea or temperature are a concern.

He suggested that these cases go to the health center, since the doctor only goes in emergency cases.

"Several summer health centers have been opened in the southern area, because the nearest hospitals are only in Vlora and Saranda, and a permanent health center in Himarë. 18 ambulances have been made available.

A problem that I wanted to share, given that the number of calls to the emergency service has increased and we cannot handle every concern, so we cannot provide assistance because we are an emergency. Another problem is the calls we receive from hotels asking for hotel staff, because the doctor cannot go to the hotel for a fever or diarrhea.

They have to come to the health center, because that way the center is closed if the doctor goes to the patient. It goes when there is a real emergency. These are some of the problems that have arisen and create obstacles for us", emphasized Brataj./ CNA.al
