From June 15, 30 summer health centers have been opened in tourist areas, to guarantee quality health care for vacationers and tourists who will visit Albania during this summer season. The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu together with the Mayor of the Municipality Emirjana Sako have inspected one of the summer health centers opened in the coastal city, to help vacationers and tourists during the summer season.

"The entire coast, but also the mountainous areas, already have an effective service organized in 30 summer health centers, starting from Valbona, and extending to Ksamil. There are more than 170 doctors, nurses and service workers engaged in these structures, which opened on June 15 and will remain until September 15, to guarantee a tourist season as safe and healthy as possible", said Manastirliu.

Minister Manastirliu announced that in addition to the summer health centers, there will be 18 ambulance stations in the tourist areas.

"We have 18 fixed ambulance stations, in coordination with the National Emergency Medical Center, with doctors, nurses and all life-saving medical equipment, to coordinate with our structures in regional hospitals and with the medical helicopter unit, which is also in readiness 24 hours, we have the opportunity to have the best, most qualitative organization, in terms of any emergency or health emergency, to come to the aid of vacationers, tourists, who this year will to be much more in number than in previous years", said Manastirliu.

Speaking about the influx during the tourist season, the Mayor of Durrës, Emirjana Sako said:

"Last year we had over 1 million tourists and visitors to our city, which means the work for the doctors also increases during the tourist season. This center open at this point is only a few meters from the beach and copes with any problem they may have tourists, visitors, but also residents. We also have an open center in Lalzi Bay, and the municipality will also be available for beach cleaning and maintenance," said Sako.

Summer health centers from north to south, on the coast, but also in mountainous areas, where the number and flow of tourists and vacationers also increases, are opened every June 15, until the end of the tourist season. This year, a new summer health center has been added in Spille, and there are a total of 30 24-hour summer health centers open throughout the country, from north to south, from the mountain tourist areas to the coasts. In the north, 8 health centers operate, of which four are in the mountain tourist areas (Valbonë, Razëm, Tamarë and Theth) and four more on the beaches of Velipojë, Rrjollë, and Shëngjin e Tale in Lezhë.

In Durrës, 5 health centers operate, specifically on the beaches of Gjiri i Lalzit, Currila, Old Beach and Shkëmbi i Kavajë, Spille, while in Kavajë there are 24-hour centers on the beaches of Golem and Mali i Robi. A total of 14 summer health centers operate in the southern region, located respectively in: Pogradec; Lushnjë on the beach of Divjaka; Fern on Darëzeze beach; Vlora on four beaches, specifically in Zvërnec, Plazhi i Vjetër (Vlora), Radhimë, Orikum. In the Municipality of Himarë on 6 beaches, specifically in: Palasa, Dhërmi; Drimadhes, Himare, and Qeparo. In Saranda on the beaches Borsh, Ksamil i Vjetër and Ksamil i Ri.
