At noon today, the first hearing was held in the premises of the council hall near the municipality of Korça to present the project idea of ??building the new stadium of the city.

During this meeting, councilors of the municipal council, representatives from the Skënderbeu football club, as well as others interested in this project, who first became familiar with it, and then discussed it further, giving suggestions, participated.

Korçë Municipality emphasizes that the redevelopment of Skënderbeu Stadium in Korçë will not only provide optimal conditions for sports, raising it to the highest level of sports infrastructure in the region, but will also promote business, entertainment, artistic culture, educational culture and trade in dedicated spaces, with the aim of creating attractions for all those who visit Korça, adding value to the town and the region.

The revitalization of the stadium and its surrounding area will transform it into a multifunctional center for the city.

Hazbie Dervishi, the architect of the local studio "UNO Architects", told Cna Tv details about this project that will bring Korça a wonderful sports asset. Dervishi says that this project does not contain only the stadium but the entire sports area that will have the necessary facilities.

"This project does not only include the stadium itself, but is for the entire sports area, which will be developed having all the facilities that they need to have as a sports area. The first point of view is the stadium, which will increase in category , will become a fourth-category stadium that will allow the development of international matches. This will bring development not only to the city, but also to the whole of Albania."

As for the elements that will be intervened in this complex, the architect Dervishi singles out the characteristic Korça roofs, the windows, the red and white coat of arms that will be in complete harmony with each other.

"For architectural elements, it is known that the roofs of Korça are always special, also for the materials they have and the shapes of the windows, in this project a little modern essence has been given, let's say, as you saw in the project, the roofs are made with roofs, the windows with the white side trim, normally the white and red coat of arms has been preserved for the whole area. We think it's in total harmony with the whole city."

Among other things, the stadium will have about 8,200 seats, dressing rooms, toilets, spaces for VIPs, as well as a hotel that will accommodate the athletes. In addition to these elements, the entire area around the stadium will function as one.

"The stadium has about 8,200 seats, it will have all the facilities that a stadium needs. Changing rooms, toilets, rooms and spaces for VIPs, there will also be a part of the hotel that will enable the athletes to stay to be there. The whole part of the stadium and the surrounding buildings will function as one, where there will also be commercial shops that will offer not only sportsmen but also tourists who come to us."

This idea project has had very positive reactions, while it is expected that in the future there will be other hearings until the finalization of the project.

"We are in a developing project, it is an idea project, that's why we had this hearing and we will have others where we will receive comments from the citizens themselves about the development of the area. We have received positive feedback so far and we have been throughout time in the process, talking with the municipality, investors or even with the citizens themselves for the improvement of the project. We are currently in an idea project that will be developed until its finalization, i.e. in the construction project."

Architect Hazbie Dervishi has added that the project was designed in collaboration with the Danish studio Cebra, which won the design right in the competition held a few months ago. Korça has an early tradition in sports, and even more so in football, carrying a great history on its shoulders, and this history will be developed even more by the new sports complex./ CNA
