Cologne, a magnet for foreign tourists/ Culinary tourism destination

In Kolonjë, tourists not only have the opportunity to visit tourist and cultural heritage sites but also to learn to cook and then enjoy traditional dishes.

For French tourists who are numerous in number this year, Albania and Cologne offer a lot, especially in culinary tourism.

"It was wonderful for us to learn to cook lakrori and watch the women prepare the food. What I like most about Cologne is the organic food, the untouched view of nature, and the hospitality of the people," said one of the tourists. 

"It's our first time in Albania, we've done a tour throughout the country. We're amazed by the way you treat us. The archaeological sites, nature and especially the food have pleased us these days. I think we'll come back again," says another. 

For French tourist guides, the latter are increasingly preferring green tourism, especially when living together with the locals they meet.

Amidst untouched nature, tradition and authentic flavors, Kolonja is becoming a destination that is not visited simply to be seen, but to be experienced. Culinary tourism, combined with the hospitality and daily life of the residents, is attracting more and more foreign visitors, making this area one of the pearls of green tourism in southeastern Albania. /CNA
