The stage of the “Andon Zako Çajupi” Theater in Korça is once again lit up with laughter and nostalgia. After 33 years, the comedy “8 Persona Plus”, one of the most beloved works of author and director Ferdinand Radi, has returned to the Korça audience, this time as a tribute to his creativity.

Directed by Andeta Radi and performed by Rozana Radi on stage, the show brought a new spirit, without losing the essence of the work that has captivated entire generations of spectators.

"Since this is a premiere that was one of the most popular in those years when it was staged at the National Theater and not only there, but also at the Korça Theater, I tried to bring the same comedy with the same text but in a different form," she said.

For Andeta Radin, this was not only a theatrical premiere, but also a personal challenge. Putting on stage a work that was once directed by her father and in which her sister, Rozana, also performs, made the responsibility even greater.

"It was very exciting. The fact that it is a work written by my father, the fact that I had to direct what my father had previously done, the fact that my sister is playing on stage... the responsibility was maximum. I hope the audience enjoyed it," Radi said.

Even though more than three decades have passed since its first premiere, the director says the comedy remains just as relevant. According to her, the changes in society and the paradoxes of our time make the work naturally communicate with the audience of 2026.

"We are faced with wonders that enter our lives every day. It's 2026 and we haven't even entered Europe yet. So the work is current, I've tried to incorporate elements of our daily lives into it," she said.

Actress Zamira Kita also experienced a special emotion, returning to the same comedy after 33 years. In her first performance, she played the role of Xhilda, while today she takes to the stage with the character of Kizi, considering this return a tribute to the figure of Ferdinand Radi.

"It has been 33 years since this play was performed with the Korça Theater troupe. It is a great pleasure for me to return after so many years with another very beautiful character from this play. We do this as a tribute to Ferdinand Radin," said the actress.

Rozana Radi also returned to the stage, admitting that this was one of the most difficult premieres of her career. She says that childhood memories of attending her father's performances and listening to the audience repeat the jokes from memory accompanied her throughout the work process.

"I enjoy it as a premiere, as a rehearsal, as a dress rehearsal. I think the audience has been receiving this comedy for years, but today we brought something fresh. We could not and will never do what my father did, but in a different spirit ," said Radi.

For the actress, the biggest emotion was the audience's reaction, which even after so many years continues to recognize and repeat the comedy's jokes.

"It was one of my most difficult exits. I had a very hard time because I followed every one of my father's shows. And today I saw the same thing, that the audience has not forgotten '8 Persona Plus'," added the actress.

With a full house, laughter and long applause, the return of “8 Persona Plus” proved that good comedies never lose their value. More than a premiere, this was an evening that brought together generations of actors and spectators, bringing back to the stage the humor and artistic legacy of Ferdinand Radi. /CNA
