Anastas Kostandini's "Under the City" exhibition opens

An exhibition that transcends the boundaries of a traditional gallery and becomes an emotional and historical journey through the memory of a city. “Under the City” is the title of the newest exhibition by the Pogradec painter Anastas Kostandini, known as Taso, which opened on Saturday evening at the Pogradec Art Gallery.

In this exhibition, through 31 drawings made with a special sensitivity and artistic mastery, Taso recalls fragments from the history of his city, recounts life in the past, and tells about the traditions and roots that shape the collective identity of Pogradec.

For the author himself, this is not just an art exhibition, but an act of love for the city where he grew up and which has always inspired his creativity.

" The entire exhibition is a hymn to the city, to the past life, to our life, to our traditions. The exhibition is based on my ability to draw and create scenes related to the history of the city and very distant periods. This is also due to the fact that our city really needs to be very aware of its identity and I think this is a contribution. Through the 31 drawings, I discover, travel through my memory, which I hope the citizens will feel excited about ," said the painter.

The exhibition also comes with a modern and interactive approach. Bar codes corresponding to the exhibited works have been distributed throughout the city. Anyone who scans them can read the description and story behind each drawing, thus extending the exhibition beyond the confines of the gallery and making it part of everyday urban life.

" I believe the exhibition has a special presentation, bar codes corresponding to the drawings have been distributed throughout the city. You can scan them and then read their history. It is a complex work and a special exhibition for our gallery ," said painter Taso.

Also present at the event was the renowned director and actor Mevlan Shanaj, who praised both the aesthetic dimension and the civic message of the work.

" It is time to say again that this Taso surprises you with his research to make the city of Pogradec. An extraordinary Pogradec resident, as well as a skilled painter. Every year he brings exhibitions, but today's one is related to something very special. All these works were created with a love of citizenship. He has given Pogradec a very special look, with a civic dimension. Taso sees it as a European city, everything has a very emancipated movement. This is precisely what is special about the exhibition in my opinion. I know all of Taso's works, I congratulate him ," the actor said.

The exhibition "Under the City" will remain open to visitors at the Art Gallery, while through technology and dissemination in public space, it gives the city a new spirit, turning Pogradec into an open gallery where art, memory and citizenship come together./ CNA
