Journalist, publicist, poet, former director of Radio Shkodra and RTSH Shkodra, Dashamir Dini, was accompanied to his final resting place. Tributes were held in the lobby of the institution he led for 7 years, while his contribution to this media spanned over 2 decades.
Relatives, colleagues, friends and heads of institutions said their final farewell to the man who contributed with dedication and professionalism to Radio Shkodra for 22 years, where he served as a journalist, editor-in-chief and twice as director, in the period 2000-2003 and then in the years 2017-2021.
"He was a defiant man, who knew how to face a great family tragedy with unparalleled courage. He was also a defiant man against the disease that did not surrender to him. He has left an indelible mark," said Gëzim Podgorica, former member of the RTSH Board of Directors.
"The loss of Dashamir Dini is a loss, in fact, for the entire city of Shkodra. A model citizen and personification of Shkodra citizenship," said Brisela Kadija, director of ZVA Shkodra.
"A loss for our city, a man with contributions to various institutions," said Oltion Luli, Chairman of the Shkodra Municipal Council.
"We live with the family's pain and his memory will live long," said Teuta Qyteza, deputy mayor of the Municipality of Shkodra.
"The departure of Dashamir from this life is very difficult for everyone, for us as colleagues it is doubly so. I will always carry with me the humanity of Dash because in every situation he knew how to be a good person, without losing his humanity," said Nermin Spahou, editor-in-chief at RTSH.
"In fact, he had a good name, Dashamir, and he was kind to his family, work, and colleagues," said Jonuz Hallaçi, director of RTSH Kukës.
"Dashi was a man with a broad horizon, a broad culture, serious, who knew how to recognize both institutional and human relationships," said Zef Çoba, composer.
"It's painful, all the good people are leaving us one after another. Dashi was a good man, a good parent, a good and wonderful poet," said Mustafa Tukaj, playwright.
At the end of the ceremony, the coffin was escorted to the public cemetery of Shkodra, where it will rest among the people who loved and appreciated it.
"We are paying tribute to a colleague, a man who held his profession sacred. A man of culture, who had a depth of thought to admire," said Jetmir Shpuza, director of RTSH Shkodra.
Dashamir Dini led the Socialist Party in Shkodra for several years, becoming known as one of its reformers in this city. Several years ago, he lost his only son, singer Ergi Dini, while the disease has now defeated him as well. Journalism has lost a rare professional. /CNA
