On Friday evening, the stage of the "Andon Zako Çajupi" Theater in Korça was filled with strong emotions and deep messages through the monodrama "Angels".

The work, produced by author Odise Plaku and directed by Naser Shatroll, brought the drama of missing children in conflict countries to the center of attention, through the painful story of a mother who knows nothing about the fate of her child.

Renowned actress Vefi Redhi interpreted the main character with deep sensitivity, entering the skin of a woman who lives between anxiety, hope and memories, in a reality where war has taken everything.

" The first is that history should not be forgotten because it repeats itself, as it is already repeating itself with other countries and other children. It is very real, I am drawing a parallel with the children of Gaza, and at the same time it is a powerful message that sings a hymn to the mother. Like the efforts of a mother's heartbeat, the entire society should beat when it comes to the fate of children who are the future. Perhaps it is one of the greatest pains when you see a tearful child whom you cannot help, when he says "I want to eat", when he asks "Can you give me back my mom and dad?" We have ended as a society if we produce such situations because life no longer has meaning without the future and the future of life is children ", said actress Redhi.

The author of the work, Odise Plaku, describes the drama as an institutional and humane call to stop the bloodshed that is happening in many countries around the world.

" This work is precisely an institutional call, a call for justice, a call to end this endless bloodshed that is happening all over the world and every day it is becoming a worrying problem that is taking people's lives. All of us as a society must find a way to give our clear messages, so that if we cannot stop the war, at least we can prevent it and not make the lives of children black but be like the flowers of May, and the lives of parents to be by their children's side, to enjoy life, to give love and happiness. Considering the fact that wars are the gangrene of everyday life around the world, I thought that such a work stood the test of time. We should be the authors who should write and convey everyday life in its dynamics, in its problems, " said the author Plaku.

Director Naser Shatrolli, himself affected by war experiences, has chosen to avoid direct sentimentality to give the work an artistic and abstract dimension.

" I have had direct experience, I have been in the war, not as a fighter, but I have experienced all the movements, escapes, sleeping in the mountains, in snow and rain, with family and children. I have had this suffering until the day the internationals entered. Suffering cannot be compensated for with anything, but in this artistic case, I wanted to blur the sentimental part and give it more of an artistic, aesthetic dimension and enter the contours of abstraction, absurdity, paradox, " said the director.

The monodrama "Angels" is more than a theatrical performance, it is a reflection of the pain that war leaves behind, a tribute to mothers and a call for social awareness.

She was awarded the "Best Director" and "Best Actress" awards at the Monodrama festival that was held 3 days ago in the capital, while the play will continue its journey to several theaters in Albania and Kosovo./ CNA
