The inhabitants of Ziçishti in Devoll, the Orthodox believers as well as Muslims, have come together in the organization of the feast of Saint Mary, first by participating in the mass held this Thursday morning, and then by gathering together to celebrate with song and dance.

The priest of the village of Ziçisht, Father Viktor Konomi, has shown that this day is also special for the 100th anniversary of the creation of the "Holy Trinity" Society, which has left a mark during these years in the investments made in this village. "On the 15th of August we celebrate Mother Mary, after mass at the church, residents gather here and have fun with the opportunities they have. In addition to Mother Mari, we also have a very important anniversary, the 100th anniversary of the "Saint Trinia" Ziçishtare Society. The goal was to make the village progress, the commission that was in that period, was with knowledgeable people, with high schools. I give a message to all believers, Christians, the village of Ziçisht and wherever they are. Not only for them, but also for the Muslim community because Albania is known for religious coexistence, God bless you", said Father Viktor Konomi.

The municipality of Devoll made sure that this celebration was organized as beautifully as possible so that visitors could enjoy the beauties of the village. One of the organizers, Gjergji Liço, has given the good news that foreign visitors have arrived in Ziçisht this Thursday, as well as residents of Ziçisht have returned from distant places of emigration.

I take this opportunity to call on the state institutions to invest and turn their attention from Ziçishti. I wish all the ?iši?i and Orthodox believers a happy Saint Mary's Day. For those who are following us, I invite you to visit Ziçishti because it has many values, they have something to visit and they will be satisfied", declared Liço.

Even Ilirjan Buxhak, after 28 years in the USA, has returned to the village, while telling a very interesting fact about the village and the people of Ziçishti.

"From America and after 28 years I am coming to this party for the first time. It is an old tradition, I don't believe there is another place in Albania more civilized than Ziçishti. I am from Ziçishtar parents, but I was in the north of Albania and then 28 years in Florida, America", said Ilirjan Buxhaku.

The special visit on this marked day is that of the Finnish tourist Aino Vaananen, a photographer. She is very pleased to have visited Ziçishti, as the people are very hospitable and the nature is fantastic.

"It is my first time in this village. I am traveling with some colleagues, I am a photographer, while my colleagues are doing ethnographic research, I am taking pictures here. I have been to Albania 2 or 3 times before, in Korça, in the south, in Tirana. I came here because my colleagues told me about this wonderful village and dog. Very warm atmosphere, they are very hospitable. You can tell that people have created a very nice atmosphere. The view is also fantastic", she emphasized.
