Journalist Rudina Muça denounced this Saturday that after one of her reports, the Minister of Agriculture, Anila Denaj threatened to fire her sister.

DP deputy Ina Zhupa reacted to the journalist's threat.

The latter asks Denaj to stop the pressure and account for why the Brucellosis vaccine was not made, for which 1.7 million euros were spent.

"Anila Denaj to stop the pressure on Top Channel journalist Rudina Muca by firing her sister from her job and to account for the fact that the ministry she leads has not carried out the vaccine against Brucellosis even though this vaccine cost 1.7 million euros.

Courageous and professional denunciation in the service of the public interest should cause the competent bodies to investigate.

Minister Denaj, instead of threatening the journalist's family members with the purpose of intimidation and pressure to not reveal the truth, should take responsibility for the department she leads. Agriculture is actually one of the most failed sectors of this government where they are specialized in the disappearance of European and Albanian funds.

These acts clearly indicate the regression shown by the European Union in relation to the freedom of the media and that governmental affairs are not answered by investigation of the guilty but by threats and intimidation of whistleblowers", Zhupa emphasizes./ CNA
