May 11th Elections/ Rama: One last march, to follow the national prophet towards

Socialist leader Edi Rama was the last to give a speech at the opening of his party's election campaign.

In his speech, which he ironically said from the beginning would be short, Rama said that today begins a final climb towards the EU.

Prime Minister Rama said that this mandate is a final march towards the promised land, referring to the European Union.

Rama further stated that Albanians have hidden the Western essence within themselves for centuries.

" Now you will bear with my usual short speech. For us socialists, today the last climb towards Europe begins here. For us, it is only 1 date, as close as 30 mornings and 1 mandate as long as 4 years. Do not forget, for this bet, on both sides of the coin, the Arbëror and the Albanians have thrown everything they had. I have not come to delve into legends, but to follow together with you, in a final march towards the promised land, our national prophet.

Today, fate has chosen us to give the final push to the stone of independence, independence before the law, and not push it down like Sisyphus' stone. There is no other people in the Balkans like the Albanians, who have been stuck on top of a cliff for centuries to survive everything. There is no other nation in the Balkans more identified with the feeling of belonging to Europe. Albania has been able to hide within itself for centuries the Western essence. To preserve it throughout every persecution, to bring it out alive from the most savage isolation that the communist world has known" , said Rama./ CNA
