Rama: The day will not be far when Albania will have a female prime minister

Socialist leader Edi Rama was present today at the meeting "Socialist Girls and Women for Albania 2030", which was held this afternoon at the National Opera and Ballet Theater. In his speech, Rama focused on the importance and role of women and girls in politics.

Among other things, Rama said that he is convinced that the day will not be far off when Albania will have a female prime minister.

Rama jokingly said that he doesn't even discuss the fact that the first female prime minister will be a socialist.

"Today, the Parliament is led by a socialist woman, who replaced another socialist woman. I am convinced that the day is not as far off as it might have seemed yesterday when Albania will have its first female prime minister, and I do not even dispute that she will be a socialist."

"Look at how we have increased the participation of women and girls in local assemblies and municipal councils where the Socialist Party has been present all along, which has attracted others and when we have consistently made it a condition for moving forward with the approval of electoral laws," Rama said. /CNA
