The Socialist Party aims to get at least 6 seats of deputies in the district of Korça.

This was announced by the political leader of the SP for Korça, Niko Peleshi, in a statement to the media.

Peleshi said that the SP will have a margin of at least 2 MPs from the DP.

He emphasized that the Korça district may have one mandate less than the previous elections due to the departure of the population.

"Major parties in parliamentary elections always aim to win the elections. The SP is going for the 4th mandate and is very close to it anyway, we are used to taking things seriously and at the right time regardless of how the opponent is in front of us, we see our work and the challenges of the SP are with the future and the objective of Albania, not of the SP alone, which is Albania's membership in the EU in 2030. An objective that 10 years ago was used as a word to give flavor to political statements that today is a reality that is also articulated by high officials of the EU. It is a date that we have turned into a work plan, the Parliament, on the other hand, has its own tasks in this process. So, our goal is to win the 4th mandate to continue without losing the pace, on the way to the historical destination of Albanians, which is EU membership in 2030.

It is possible that due to the increase in the number of voters in Tirana, the district of Korça may have one mandate less, although Korça as a municipality and district was the area with the smallest decrease in population. Our objective remains the same, we will get a minimum of 6 MPs, with a difference of at least 2 MPs from the DP, but also taking into account the new potential offered to politics with the new amended electoral code, which is the vote of the Diaspora, the objectives and can be increased because there is a great potential in the Diaspora. So we can have voters in the Diaspora as much as in Albania. One of the meeting points in every assembly of the SP, in the municipalities of the district, is the organization for the vote of the Diaspora", he said.

The political leader of the SP also explained the lists of the SP for Korça, while emphasizing that it does not matter to him whether he will be on the open or closed list.

"If there will be 10 deputies, there will be 3 mandates closed in the district of Korça, if there will be 11 deputies, there will be 4 mandates closed

This is not a question of names, neither my name nor any other name. The objectives are numbers not names, we want to keep at least 6 deputies in the district. This system encourages healthy competition within the party and maximizes the vote, so the part outside the closed list should run more, bring more votes. This is democracy.

We still do not have a consolidated formula, but it is our determination to mark another even greater opening of the SP in this election process. The opening of the SP is in its AND, the key to the success of almost 4 mandates, but even earlier. I myself am a product of the opening at a certain time, we are creating mechanisms such as the political academy for young people or platforms that encourage young people, so a shorter lane compared to the normal bureaucratic lane of contributions to the party", underlined Peleshi ./ CNA
