Diaspora Vote/ Celibashi, at the request of the Assembly

CEC Head Ilirjan Celibashi has announced that he will address the Assembly with a request to change the structure that will deal with the evaluation and counting of diaspora votes.

Celibashi said today that the structure will also require the inclusion of representatives of political parties, as a key factor for credibility.

“We will propose to the Assembly a change to the Electoral Code regarding the structure that will deal with the evaluation and counting of ballots.

"Since it is essential that as a process that is being carried out for the first time, we have the trust of all parties. Political parties, especially the CEC, should be included in the counting process," he said.

According to Celibashi, 50 percent will be composed of the opposition and 50 percent of the majority.

"The counting of the diaspora vote will not necessarily take place in the premises where the CEC headquarters is located. There will be an agreement with the political parties on the location," he said./ CNA
