On Sunday, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with Albanian immigrants in Greece.

Regarding this meeting, the son of Fredi Beleri, Petro Beleri, spoke to the Greek media SKAI, who stated that the choice of the date was not a coincidence, as it coincides with the same date that his father, the elected president of Himara Municipality, who was put in handcuffs on May 12, 2023 for buying votes, two days before the local elections.

"I clearly believe that choosing a specific date was a challenge, it wanted to provoke and respond to Beler's candidacy. It cannot be considered a coincidence that on exactly the same day last year, this pogrom was committed against a then-candidate president, then the elected president, and since then an entire community of Himariots who even today have not seen democracy in effect in her country", he said.

According to Beler's son, Rama wanted to terrorize the Greek ethnic minority living in Albania with his visit.

"I believe he wants to mobilize his inner circle and send a message of terror to the rest of the Greeks left behind," Beler's son told SKAI.

"If we succeed and Fredis Beleri is elected, there will be an elected MEP who belongs to the European People's Party, belongs to ND, in Greece, he is a member of the Greek ethnic minority, he will highlight these problems that exist in Albania, no matter how much someone tries to hide them.

It worries Rama that Greece is behaving under the conditions of the rule of law, it is worrying that Greece is behaving institutionally, it is worrying that Greece is behaving in a democratic manner, it is worrying that it lost the elections in Himara, it is worrying that the father did not withdraw all this time", further emphasized.
