Democratic MPs seem to have concluded their political engagement for 2024 with song and dance. As can be seen in these images, deputies such as Gazment Bardhi, Jorida Tabaku, Agron Gjekmarkaj, etc. dance to the sounds of Fatmira Breçani's song, dedicated to Sali Berisha.

From the video published on social media, the democrats are seen dancing happily, while the lyrics of Breçani's song are heard in the background:

"Today, hearts beat
for democracy
, for Dr. Berisha
and his friendship.
There is no religion or party
that divides this Albanian"

The Democrats say that today the word division does not exist in their vocabulary and that they are more united than ever, but ironically this song recalls the time when MPs like Bardhi, Tabaku and Gjekmarkaj swore that with Berisha at the head of the party there would never be cooperation and that they would not recognize him as the leader of the Democratic Party.

"Berisha has told lies to turn PD into a shield for his personal problems." This is how Bardhi expressed himself two years ago about what he now knows as the chief democrat who leads the DP.

"I don't sit at the table with Berisha", said Gjekmarkaj three years ago, since according to him the former prime minister had usurped the party.

"The PD does not need a figurehead, it needs a group of people." Said Tabaku a year ago, being against Berisha as the leader of the largest opposition force.

Apparently, all these MPs in the "big" opposition fight they are waging against the government, have forgotten the main thing: To be true in what they say and stick to their convictions.

But in fact, as can be seen in their statements over the years, those who until yesterday were servile to Lulzim Basha, today are doing the same with Sali Berisha, and tomorrow it is not known what their political agenda will be.

But one thing is more certain: They cannot be an alternative for the citizens to choose them to run the country, as long as they do not choose to stick to the words they take out of their mouths. /CNA
