"For the Democratic Party, Ilir Meta is the man who represents the most dangerous clan of traffickers in Albania. In the history of the country, this remains the man who, with his gangs, put Albania at the top of the list of countries in the world in the trafficking of sex slaves, children and girls, drugs and weapons".

This is what Sali Berisha, the head of the DP, declared in a press conference in 2001.

For PD and Berisha, at that time, Meta of the former LSI and of today's PL, was nothing but a trafficker of children and girls.

According to Berisha, Meta always trafficked weapons and drugs.

"Meta is the man who built his power on crime, trafficking and corruption, so the return to Albania of a legitimate prime minister remains the most absolute major obligation of the Albanians who voted against him", said Berisha 11 years ago .
