GJKKO's Appeal decision for Berisha/Topalli: Absurd and political
Jozefina Topalli

The head of DP for the Diaspora, Jozefina Topalli, has reacted in relation to the decision of the Appeal of GJKKO for the head of DP, Sali Berisha.

According to the former speaker, this is an absurd and politicized decision. Topalli has stated that it is a decision

"An absurd decision by a politicized absurd legal justice that defies every principle of the rule of law.

Yesterday we witnessed another political decision by the justice system: the obligation to appear against Sali Berisha, the leader of the opposition. This is an act that defies legal logic and basic principles of justice.

This decision, taken when the investigations are closed, is not simply legally unsupported; it is a legal absurdity that defies every principle of the rule of law.

In fact, absurdity has accompanied every stage of this political process.

 Berisha was arrested without charges.

The leader of the opposition has been kept under house arrest for 333 days, in open violation of the Constitution and laws of the country.

It was sentenced by a judge dismissed for corruption by President Berisha himself.

The process was initiated by a minister of the current government.

It is based on a collegial VKM approved 20 years ago.

With only 4 months from the elections, it is impossible not to connect this process with the electoral campaign and the use of justice by the current government. This is a "witch hunt" orchestrated to influence the election result.

Ironically, by following this wrong path, his opponents are turning Sali Berisha into an unjustly persecuted figure who, instead of being weakened, gains support and solidarity. History has shown that injustices only strengthen figures like Berisha and entrench them deeper in the public consciousness.

"When justice becomes politicized, it loses all connection with the law and becomes a tool of power, undermining the foundations of a just and equal society."

Politicized justice is not justice!", writes Topalli./ CNA
