From Lapaj, Qori to Shehaj/ The new forces in the political scene and the shadows that hide behind

From Lapaj, Qori to Shehaj/ The new forces in the political scene and the

New political forces have joined the traditional ones in the country. They will compete in the May 11 parliamentary elections.

Experience has shown that Albanians remain supporters of the parties that were created with the advent of democracy, such as the Democratic and Socialist ones, and not the new trends. The latter have the challenge of attracting as many supporters as possible.

Created by former activists and political science researchers, the new groups aim to break the SP and DP oligopoly by installing more equal conditions to compete in elections.

"OPPORTUNITY"

From Lapaj, Qori to Shehaj/ The new forces in the political scene and the

Deputy Agron Shehaj, who left the group of democrats led by Berisha's Reestablishment, presented on June 1 the newest political force in the country "Opportunity".

According to Shehaj, this new political movement has nothing to do with what Albanians have seen in 30 years. Shehaj said that this new political group will bring hope back to Albanians and will represent a European political force with concrete activities on the ground.

Since the presentation, Shehaj has held meetings with citizens throughout the country, while denying the coalition with DP, stressing that the cooperation of the opposition parties until now has failed and that there is a need for a new spirit.

"KNITTING INITIATIVE"

The "Thurje" initiative led by Endri Shaban is another force that remains optimistic that new political alternatives can take place on the Albanian scene.

According to Shabani, change is only possible through a true commitment and a vision that goes beyond the narrow interests of traditional parties.

Even "Thurje" has denied cooperation with DP and SP. This year has not found the initiative very active. In various interviews, Shabani has stated that the new parties must be together, and this call has been repeatedly made by the entity he leads.

The representatives of "Thurje" participated in the television studio to discuss the developments in the country, but the same cannot be said about the contact they had with the citizens. We can probably see the meetings and the descent on the ground in the following months as the parliamentary elections approach.

"MOVING TOGETHER"

Led by Arlind Qorin, "Lëvizja Bashke" is another new opposition force. Qori has been active throughout this year, while he has been shot by the head of the majority quite a few times, somehow becoming a factor.

However, Qori is widely considered as a tool of the renaissance, mainly of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliajt, and not as the new spirit of oppositionism that he claims to be. Qori and a group of young people who accompany him have held meetings in different cities, revealing their program.

One protest, in which the "Together Movement" has continuously participated and given voice, was that of pensioners and miners. Qori has said that these categories have been abandoned by the government, committing that pensions are the commitment of the movement he leads.

The head of the government, Edi Rama addressed Qori with different labels such as "Sude with glasses". But Arlind Qori has considered Rama's statements as bullying.

It has been an intense year for Adriatik Lapaj, who leads the "Albania Becomes" movement. Confident that it is a good and new alternative for Albanians, Lapaj has had a busy agenda of meetings in the country and outside Albania to present the program he offers.

CNA has carefully observed Lapaj's activities, this for the sole fact that the activist lawyer held meetings around the world and the question that naturally arose was who financed this agenda?

However, it seems that CNA disturbed Lapaj and those who follow him, who attacked our media with insulting comments.

That didn't stop CNA. We analyzed every statement of Lapaj. He confirmed the many claims that someone was behind it and it wasn't the money of the poor Albanians who paid for the travel and hotels of Lapaj and others who follow him. He admitted that he is funded by the Soros foundation.

When it comes to Lapaj, a detail worth mentioning, which may even be the main one, is his connection with Erion Veliaj. He does not throw mud at Erion Veliajt.

Hundreds of protests have taken place in front of the Municipality of Tirana and Lapaj and his staff have not been seen anywhere. Lapaj has not even organized a protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana, for the scandal that broke out and the corruption of the directors of Veliaj and the mayor himself, who is being investigated by SPAK as a suspect of corruption.

CNA has repeatedly shown with facts that Lapaj has not been transparent, not only about the meetings, but also about his connections with Veliaj. For all those who tell us that this is the new political party and what is different, these facts prove that Adriatik Lapaj is only Llapaj of Veliaj, once a former soldier of Kreshnik Spahi.

Politics in Albania has experienced decades of difficult transition, where traditional parties, such as the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, have dominated the political scene.

This hegemony of the two big parties has created a perception of a closed system, where rotations of power have often been associated with corruption, lack of transparency and non-realization of citizens' expectations.

Electoral processes in the country have failed to reach international standards due to the repetition of a series of negative phenomena, including the lack of media freedom, vote buying and selling, use of resources and public administration by the ruling party, politicization of the electoral administration and lack of of political dialogue.

The two major parties have failed to address these issues and have often been accused by new political entities of having manipulated the electoral reform process in favor of their electoral calculations./ CNA
