Dear citizens of Shkodra!

The year 2024 for Shkodër Municipality and its residents produced a bunch of scandals from the mismanagement of its head Benet Beci and his close staff.

The political delegate of Rilindah, now officially under investigation for corruption by SPAK, has chosen to make many decisions on his own, without any transparency, placing in the foreground narrow clientelistic interests and not at all in the interest of the residents of the territory which includes Shkodër Municipality.

The City Council, as a decision-making body, has been overlooked many times, in complete violation of the law on local government and the regulation of the good functioning of the City Council.

The majority in the Council, with the power of the card, legislated the interests of their mayor, who considers Shkodra as his fiefdom, his clients and his boss in Tirana.

The last meeting of the Municipal Council, where the draft budget was supposed to be debated, was misused by Benet Beci to make electoral propaganda.

The mayor, who since February chose not to be present at any meeting, used the hall of the Municipal Council in the role of the renaissance political leader for the Shkodër District. While the head of the Municipal Council, like a convinced soldier, agreed to vote the 2025 budget in complete violation of the regulation without discussion, without question and answer and denying the voice of the opposition.

In Shkodër Municipality, which is now run by a handful of people without ideas, without vision from a mayor who stole the mayor's chair with the votes of gangs and organized crime, citizens' taxes are being wasted through corrupt tenders and in the complete absence of transparency.

The Municipal Council of Shkodra is being used as a notary's office by Benet Beci and his close collaborators, while the mayor throughout the year never appeared to account for where the citizens' taxes go, and how they are distributed to the salaries of patron Nazis and very little go to investments.

Not a word was said by the majority nor by Benet Beci about the increase in the price of water by 40%, nor about the increase in taxes and local fees which the local Rilindja has chosen to give as a gift for the end of the year holidays to Shkodran families.

Dear residents of Shkodra" We, the representatives of the Democratic Party in the Municipal Council of Shkodra, are determined to protect your interests with all democratic means.

2025 will be a year of great changes where Shkodra and all of Albania will be freed once and for all from this narco-regime.
