Prime Minister Edi Rama has held a series of meetings during 2024, thus in a way marking the start of the electoral campaign for the 2025 elections.

Rama started his tour of meetings with the diaspora on May 12 in Athens.

This was a date that brought a lot of controversy and reactions, since May 12 coincided with the arrest of Fredi Beler, who won the elections in Himara, but was handcuffed by the police for election corruption.

During the meeting, Rama spoke about the relations between Albania and Greece and whether Beler's arrest would affect the relationship between the neighboring countries.

"Albania has no claim to Greece other than mutual respect and care for our compatriots living in both our countries, as well as mutual relations of friendship and good neighborliness", while emphasizing that his country. During the meeting, some Albanian immigrants displayed their banner that read "I want to vote in 2025".

Rama spoke about many things in his meeting with the immigrants in Italy, saying that Albania has changed a lot since they immigrated, while inviting them to invest in Albania.

He described as a lie the accusation of the opposition that 1 million Albanians have left the country.

Rama said that he experienced the meeting in Milan with many emotions, which he shared with everyone, saying:

"I want you to know that I was extremely moved by the warm wave of greetings and invitations from many Albanians who wrote to me all these days, in fact immediately after the meeting in Athens, to visit them where they are, in the four sides of Italy".

Meeting Rama in New York

Kryeministri Edi Rama në 26 tetor zhvilloi takimin e tij me emigrantët në New York. Rama u prit me protestë në New York ndërkohë që pati dhe shumë reagime të forta për shkak të shpenzimeve të tij gjatë vizitës në New York.

Gjatë fjalës së tij në takim, Rama kërkoi votën e emigrantëve në zgjedhjet e 11 majit të 2025.

“Dhe prandaj diaspora sot, shqiptarët jashtë atdheut sot duhet të luajnë për Shqipërinë atë rol që kanë luajtur për shqiptarët këtu dhe duhet të bëhen garantë me pjesëmarrjen e tyre në zgjedhje që Shqipëria nuk kthehet më mbrapa. Prandaj kam ardhur këtu, për t’ju kërkuar që ta vazhdojmë dhe ta përmbushim së bashku këtë mision të nisur një dekadë më parë, për ta ngjitur Shqipërinë në majën e 2030, duke e bërë të pakthyeshme rrugën e Europës dhe duke e bërë për shtetin tonë, flamurin tonë, atë që çdo shqiptar si ju, në Amerikë apo Europë ka bërë për veten e vetë, për familjen e vetë, për të ardhmen e fëmijëve të vetë, duke u bërë pjesë krenare, e pandashme e bashkësisë, që sot jeton dhe punon këtu në Amerikë apo matanë oqeanit, në Europë", u shpreh Rama gjatë takimit.

Rama në Selanik, mesazhet e forta

Kryeministri e vijoi turin me vizitën e radhës në Selanik, Greqi.

Në atë takim Rama u tregua i qartë me autoritetet greke, të cilat kishin ndaluar një grup gazetarësh në kufi.

Gjatë takimit ai theksoi se kjo gjë nuk do t'u ndodhte kurrë gazetarëve të tyre që do të hynin në Shqipëri për një event.

Po ashtu kërkoi që t’i hiqej "non grata" gazetarit Marin Mema.

Më pas Rama u dha fjalën emigrantëve që për të gjithë ata që duan të votojnë, votimi do të bëhet me postë.

“Për të gjithë ata që do të duan të votojnë nga aty ku janë, do të bëhet me postë, fleta do të vijë me zarf. Jemi duke diskutuar dhe dërgimin mbrapsht që të mos ketë kosto për ata që do jenë zgjedhësit e parë nga jashtë”, tha Rama.

Protesta dhe tensione në Londër gjatë takimit të Ramës me emigrantët

Kryeministri Edi Rama zhvilloi takimin me emigrantët në Londër në datën 24 nëntor ku u prit me protestë dhe nuk munguan tensionet në sallë, ku pati përplasje mes simpatizantëve.

Rama i drejtoi gishtin opozitës për këtë fakt ku më pas deklaroi se duhet të çlirohet nga pengmarrësit.

“Fitorja jonë në zgjedhjet e ardhshme duhet të jetë një fitore jo një fitore vendimtare, por një fitore përfundimtare, edhe për opozitën që duhet çliruar nga pengmarrësit dhe nga pengmarrja për hallet e disa udhëheqësve të diskredituar nga historia”.

Ndër të tjera u kërkoi votën emigrantëve në Londër në zgjedhjet e ardhshme parlamentare.

"Today you are a voter, for the first time you will be able to participate in the political elections enjoying and exercising the right to vote from where you are! I say quite openly that next spring I want your vote from this peninsula, to become even more proud in the eyes of the world and to make Albania better."

There was also a coded message for the mayor Erion Veliaj where he said: "Until the last day I will be in that office, I will never betray anyone who has given me their trust, and there is no question that I have made mistakes." mine and I will make new mistakes, because no man is infallible.
