This afternoon, a vote was held to elect the new Speaker of the Parliament, at the end of which Niko Peleshi was elected, while the opposition boycotted the process.

Democratic MP Tritan Shehu broke the order of the DP parliamentary group and participated in the vote for the new head of the Assembly.

In a statement to the media outside the Parliament premises, Shehu said that the only reason was the voting reflex and nothing else.

Asked how he had voted against Niko Peleshi, Shehu said that he had undoubtedly voted against it.

"It was simply a voting reflex. Nothing else. Without a doubt against," said Shehu./CNA
