Ermal Dredha, against Erion Veliaj

Two days ago, it was announced in the evening by the media that Ermal Dredha, the mayor of Vlora, had resigned. As the Prime Minister said the next day at the SP Assembly, Ermal Dredha had become too Europeanized and too diplomatic. His career as an ambassador had softened him a lot for the harsh and problematic Vlora that requires an even harsher, even stronger mayor.

Faced with the problems, the demands of the prime minister, or the way Vlora should be governed, Ermal Dredha, as an intellectual and citizen, chose to withdraw.

So, although he had the chair there, after facing the problems for about two years, he resigned in a genuine act of citizenship. It is very important when a politician, an elected official, knows how to resign, the moment he feels tired or sees that he cannot cope with the problem, cannot solve it, it is more than enough for him and a diplomat like Ermali resigned.

Facing Ermal is the "Erion Veliaj" case.

He should have resigned to release all the tension, not to go and destroy the evidence. He should have resigned after the decision given by the Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court that left him in prison.

Erion Veliaj duhet të kishtë dhënë dorëheqjen në çdo rast për të treguar të paktën dhe njëherë të vetme dinjitet dhe qytetari. Le të dorëhiqej, të përballej me akuzat dhe pastaj nëse do të dilte i pafajshëm të bënte betejën, të rikthehej ndoshta edhe më i fortë se kurrë.

Por ai është i lidhur pas karriges ashtu si “Kolltukofagët” me krimba që shkruan Imzot Noli. Nuk ka asnjë ndryshim.

Pra, kjo është përballja mes socialistëve, mes demokratëve, mes çdo politikani, ka individë, ka qytetarë dinjitozë si Ermal Dredha, ka dhe zdromsa si puna e Erion Veliajt.

Këtu shohim përpara syve tanë të kapërdisen si patriotë të mëdhej ata që kanë luftuar për harfet dhe për flamurin e babës, që kanë djegur Shqipërinë e Mesme ose ata që janë puthur me andartet e i kanë ndihmuar shenjtërojnë anë e mbanë Toskërinë. Këtu si më thoshte një mik është më mirë që njeriu të jetë tradhëtor e të shikojë interesat e tij sepse kështu do të jetë i sigurtë që të nesërmen do të prokllamohet patriot i madh.

Anarkia e idealeve: Këtu idealet e shtrembëra, të errëta e të mumifikuara të Fanarit e të Buhares përfyten e përleshen në një luftë për jetë a vdekje me idealet më të gjalla më elegante e më të nderitshme të Perëndimit. Na mungojnë vetëm idealet e antropofagëve. Po për të zënë vendin e tyre kemi kolltukofagët, krimba të verdhë me kokë të zezë, që rriten me plagët e infektuara të Shqipërisë në lëngim; mund t’i copëtosh, por jo t’i shqitësh nga trupi që kafshojnë dhe thëthijnë.
