"Start from the good of the citizens"/ Political scientist:

Political scientist Ermal Hasimja raised doubts today regarding the aim of the Administrative-Territorial reform works so far.

Speaking to 'Euronews Albania', Hasimja said that unfortunately, such a reform in Albania is used for the interests of political parties.

According to him, the key element of this reform is the provision of services to citizens, whom he considered to be the greatest asset the country has.

"The debate on the issue of the Administrative-Territorial Reform should not be political, but technical and based on the interests of citizens. Consequently, the first thing that should have been done is to listen to the citizens who are on the ground. But, unfortunately, in Albania, these reforms started from the interests of the parties and then more specifically, from the party that is in power. If you ask the citizens, it is another thing. Today we have a country that suffers from a lack of services, if you remove the part of Tirana. We must bring the services closer to the citizen. We must try so that the citizen, who is the greatest asset of this country, can stay here", - said Hasimja./CNA
