"The draft laws of Chapter 17 should be postponed to the session of July

The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulat Balla, proposed that the draft laws related to Chapter 17 of the negotiations with the European Union be reviewed together in the session of July 23, to hold a full discussion on the legal package.

"Based on the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, since the law on European cooperative societies is a law that has to do with the tasks and work that the government and our negotiating group are doing for chapter 17, and since there are several other draft laws that are related to chapter 17, I propose that we combine them all in one session.  So, in the session on the 23rd, the following one, in order for the discussion to be complete for the entire package of laws related to chapter 17 ," Balla said. 

This proposal was opposed by Democratic Party deputies, who voted against changing the agenda.

Among other things, they have expressed that the parliament is only prioritizing the majority's agenda and is not holding discussions on the problems of Albanians and is not including draft laws initiated by the opposition.

Balla's proposal to change the agenda was approved by majority vote.  /CNA
