The Democratic Party held a meeting with the parliamentary group where they discussed the situation in which the party is and the alternatives on how to resolve the deadlock between them.

The discussions that took place in the meeting have been clarified. The DP MP, Dashnor Sula has proposed to create a new party because continuing in this situation, they will suffer losses both on March 6 and on May 14.

According to Sula, the situation in DP is in Rama's favor.

"We have gathered several times in meetings of the Parliamentary Group, but the time has come to talk about political solutions of the Democratic Party, so that we are ready for the 2025 elections. Edi Rama is interested in this situation in DP.

Today, Basha has the stamp from the court and we cannot stay like this, as we will repeat ourselves, like on March 6, or the May 14 elections. If we continue to wait for the court, it may happen, as it happened, that the decision was given 1 month before the elections and we lost the commissioners, the logo, the seal.

Because de jure, PD is Basha, even though it does not have membership with itself, it has a minority, while we ourselves must return to a de juro party, to be institutionally recognized by the CEC, parliament, etc. De facto, we are definitely the Democratic Party, we are the majority of the membership, we have the majority in the Parliamentary Group.

I propose that it is not the end of the world, especially since we have the membership with us, to create a new party, the Refounded Democratic Party. This is the only way we can be a serious alternative and inspire confidence in the democrats", said Sula.

Meanwhile, Sali Berisha stated that they cannot be subject to an injustice, since everything is decided as Rama wants.

"It is not difficult to find a name or make a logo. The problem is that we are being subjected to an injustice. A man who has not left injustice undone towards us. Everything is decided as Edi Rama wants. I won't let you. What are you looking for? Let's solve our problems, of course, but let's try to motivate people to protect oppositionism and rights", said Berisha./ CNA
